let's see what happened this week... Exam results came back. I was a bit crestfallen for some of the results. Don't worry I won't bored you with my results. What I really want to update about it chemistry class!

Unlike other classes, we get to ~~cam whore~~ take pictures when we're conducting chemistry experiments. I like the idea actually, it gives you a nostalgia feeling from form 1,2 and 3... WHAT!? It doesn't for you? Ah well, you're lost!

So our report...

Aim: To identify the cations and anions of unknown salt V

Apparatus: test tube, test tube holder, delivery tube with stopper, Ms.Hoo, students, pencil box, snuck in notes and camera

Material: Unknown salt V, 2 mol sodium hydroxide solution, aqueous ammonia, dilute sulphuric acid blah blah blah.... (too lazy to write)

Procedure:

1) Aqueous sodium hydroxide was added in to salt V.

2) Picture was taken

3) Ammonia was added to salt V

4) Picture was taken

5) Dilute acid was added in to salt V and connected to another boiling tube containing lime water with a delivery tube

6) Picture was taken

*note: If at any cost that a student forgot the step, they may refer to the snuck-in notes that they brought.

Discussion:

1) Salt V insoluble in aqueous sodium hydroxide

2) white precipitate is not present when ammonia was added

3) When dilute nitric acid was put in to salt V, effervescence was form. Gas evolved turns lime water cloudy.

Conclusion:

Salt V is Calcium Carbonate, end of experiment, we're all happy!

I was literally laughing my ass off in class from this picture. That was before teacher drew the legs for the insect.

I remember the good old days form Primary. Where my english scolded me just because I wrote the letter 'P' wrongly -.- Apparently (from the picture above) my english teacher said the first letter 'P' is wrong and it should be written as the one beside it...
